About Us

History

ProSource Limited (ProSource) is a Barbadian company incorporated and registered in Barbados and is also an externally registered company in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. We are also a Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) member.

ProSource is a procurement, logistics, and services provider focused primarily on the region's residential, commercial, and industrial waste sectors. Our strengths lie in our identification and exclusive contractual relationships with first-class local, regional, and international suppliers, products, and technology-enhanced services.

Our vast Project Management experience enables us to provide multidiscipline solutions with fully integrated components designed to improve public services to the people of the region.

We specialise not only in the supply of waste and environmental products. We are better suited and more experienced to offer (at our own expense) proposals for the design and implementation of complete, end-to-end project solutions tailored to the needs of the governmental and non-governmental organisations and clients we partner with for these projects.

Our track record now boasts of two successfully executed National Waste Collection Improvement projects for St. Kitts (2020) and Barbados (2022). The first of its kind project in the Caribbean was for the Solid Waste Management Corporation (SWMC) in St. Kitts. ProSource provided a fully managed "end to end" solution that consisted of the supply, assembly, and distribution of 12,050 no. 65-gallon RFID enabled Roll Out Carts, supplying and installing fourteen (14) compatible cart lifters and seven (7) no RFID truck-mounted data readers.

The second and notably larger National Waste Collection Improvement project was completed in Barbados, which included a fully managed “end to end” solution that consisted of the supply, assembly, and distribution of 100,000 no. 65-gallon RFID enabled Roll Out Carts, 100,000 no. 18-gallon RFID-enabled recycling bins, supplying and installing 80 compatible mechanical cart lifters, and 40 no. RFID truck-mounted data readers. Additionally, we have redesigned the collection methodology and routes across the entire network. We have installed in all collection vehicles in-cab technology that provides turn-by-turn directions for collection.

Alongside the operational and infrastructure transformation, we also implemented a National Anti-Littering Campaign, ‘Don’t Waste Barbados,’ which focused on educational programmes for young people and community projects.

We have also recently received a letter of engagement from the Solid Waste Management Corporation (SWMC) to launch a three-year national anti-littering campaign (Don't Waste St. Kitts and Nevis), which will commence in the coming weeks.

These projects were designed so that every household received new waste receptacles providing standardisation of waste collection assets across the network. This standardisation of waste receptacles has enabled the residential waste collection methodology to change from a manual system to a more efficient and safer mechanical operation used by all public and private waste collection vehicles.

Problems We Solve

Solid waste management is a universal issue affecting every country worldwide. It is important to have an appropriate waste management programme to mitigate public health risks, contribute to sustained economic activity and enhance public welfare.

Without the correct measures the following severe consequences may occur:

How our solutions benefit Governments, municipalities
and waste management authorities.

1. Efficient Waste Management By utilizing technology, they can streamline the process of waste collection, sorting, and disposal, which will save time and resources.

2. Environmentally Sustainable Solutions Many governments and residents are concerned about the environmental impact of waste disposal. Provides environmentally sustainable solutions, such as containerisation for recycling and composting, to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills.

3. Cost-effective Waste Management We offer cost-effective solutions that are more efficient and require fewer resources.

4. Improved Public Health Poor waste management practices can lead to public health hazards, such as the spread of disease and contamination of water sources. We can help to reduce these risks by providing safe and effective waste disposal methods.

5. Increased Community Engagement A technology-based waste management company can engage with communities to promote waste reduction and recycling practices. We help to create a culture of sustainability and reduce waste in the long term.
